These events are accessible to everyone: the young and old\, those brand new to Korean culture\, die-hard kdrama & kpop fans\, Koreans and non-Koreans alike! Kids are welcome too! \n\n\n\nOctober 19th will be a night filled with Korean games\, some of which you might have seen in Squid Game 🙂 \n\n\n\nGames might include Korean games such as: \n\n\n\n\n달고나 (뽑기) – Dalgona | Taffy Pulling (as featured in Squid Game)\n\n\n\n딱지치기 – Ttakji Chigi | Jacks (as featured in Squid Game)\n\n\n\n공기놀이 – Gongginolgi | Keep the Ball Up\n\n\n\n땅따먹기 – Ttangttameokgi | Land Grabbing \n\n\n\n단체 ox 게임 – 미니 골든벨 느낌 – Group OX Game – Mini Golden Bell Style\n\n\n\n\nAnd as usual\, there will be an opportunity to learn to write your name in Korean\, as well as a chance to learn simple Korean phrases while you’re playing the games! DESCRIPTION:Join us this fall for three magical evenings of Korean culture. These events are accessible to everyone: the young and old\, those brand new to Korean culture\, die-hard kdrama & kpop fans\, Koreans and non-Koreans alike! Kids are welcome too!  \n\n\n\nFeel free to stay for the whole two hours between 5:30 – 7:30pm\, or simply drop in when you can during that time! \n\n\n\nFor October 5th\, we will learn how to:\n\n\n\n\nwrite our names in Korean\n\n\n\nlearn to cook Tteokbokki\n\n\n\nlearn to make Kimbap\n\n\n\nlearn and practice ordering food in Korean \n\n\n\n\nWhat is Tteokbokki?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTteokbokki (떡볶이) is a popular Korean dish made with cylindrical rice cakes (tteok) cooked in a spicy and sweet chili sauce. It often includes ingredients like fish cakes\, boiled eggs\, and scallions. Tteokbokki is a beloved street food in Korea and is known for its spicy and amazingly chewy texture\, nom nom nom! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is Kimbap?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKimbap (김밥) is a popular Korean dish that consists of rolls of rice and various ingredients wrapped in sheets of dried seaweed (nori). The rice is seasoned with salt and sesame oil\, and then it’s typically filled with a variety of ingredients such as vegetables like cucumber\, carrot\, and spinach\, as well as proteins like cooked and seasoned beef\, ham\, or egg strips. Kimbap is often served in bite-sized pieces and makes for a convenient and portable snack or light meal. It’s similar in concept to sushi but with distinct Korean flavours and ingredients. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFor the other nights we will be doing various activities TBA (to be announced) including: \n\n\n\n Korean traditional games such as Marbles\, Playing Cards\, Balloon Games\, etc.Writing Your Name in Hangul\, Folk Painting\, Korean Casual Conversation\, and more!\n\n\n\nRSVP for Oct 5th Korean Food Night is now closed
